Easy, Transparent Electronic Repair Process

At Micro Fix (located in Lynnwood Glen, Pretoria), we believe in clear communication, honest diagnostic fees, and absolute transparency. Whether your device needs a straightforward part swap or complex micro-soldering, our structured process ensures you stay in control of costs at every step.

Step 1: Submit Your Repair & Booking

Skip the queue by booking your repair online or dropping off your device at our workshop. We service a wide variety of consumer and specialized electronics, including:

  • Gaming Consoles: Sony PlayStation (PS4/PS5), Microsoft Xbox (Series S/X), and Nintendo Switch (Original, Lite, OLED)

  • Window Laptops & Apple Macs: Standard Windows Laptops, High-Performance Gaming Laptops, and Apple MacBooks

  • Smartphones & Tablets: Apple iPhones, iPads, Samsung Galaxy Phones, and Samsung Galaxy Tablets

  • Audio Equipment: Home Audio Amplifiers, Bluetooth Floor-Standing Speakers, and other audio equipment upon request

Step 2: Accurate Diagnostics & Flexible Quote Options

Every device undergoes physical disassembly, part verification, or full circuit schematic tracing. To give you flexibility, we offer two clear pathways for service:

Option A: Pre-Authorised Repair Limit (Fast-Track)

Agree to a custom repair budget cap (e.g., R2,500.00) upfront. If the repair costs less than or equal to your cap, we complete the fix immediately without delaying you for quote approvals. If it exceeds your cap, we pause work and issue a formal quote. (A standard diagnostic/reassembly fee applies only if a quote exceeding your cap is declined).

Option B: Upfront Assessment & Quotation

Prefer a full diagnosis first? Pay an upfront assessment fee (communicated at the intake desk).

  • 100% Credited: If you approve our repair quote, 100% of your assessment fee is credited towards your total repair bill.

  • No Hidden Surprises: The fee strictly covers technical bench time, schematic tracing, and component sourcing if the quote is declined or the unit is unrepairable.

Step 3: Dual-Approach Repair: Parts vs. Board-Level

We don't just replace whole sub-assemblies when a targeted fix is possible.

  • Module & Part Replacements: Fast replacement of damaged screens, worn batteries, broken charging ports, camera flexes, and housing components.

  • Advanced Board-Level Repairs: Specialized micro-soldering for short circuits, blown power stages, damaged HDMI ports, liquid damage corrosion, and power management IC failures.

Our Stop-Work Guarantee (Secondary Fault Protocol):

If replacing a module or fixing a mainboard short reveals a secondary latent fault (e.g., a shorted board cleared reveals a degraded battery or faulty sub-board), we halt work immediately. We will never carry out additional paid work without issuing a revised quotation and obtaining your explicit written approval first.

Step 4: Quality Testing, Collection & 3-Month Warranty

Once bench testing is complete, your device is ready for pick-up or return delivery. Invoice payment to be cleared into our account prior to collection/return delivery.

  • 3-Month Statutory Warranty: All completed repairs and new replacement parts come backed by a mandatory 3-month warranty for your peace of mind.

  • Safe & Compliant: Fully CPA (Consumer Protection Act) and POPIA compliant—your personal details and privacy are protected.
